Getting to Tampere by plane

The Finnish national carrier Finnair offers the best connections to Helsinki, and a convenient

bus service from Helsinki to Tampere. When traveling with Finnair just select Tampere as your

destination (TMP or XTP, they are both the same) and your connecting “flight” from Helsinki

will be a bus service by Finnair and take you all the way to Tampere bus station, located at the

Getting to Tampere by rail

Tampere is a major train hub in Finland, and you can easily travel from Helsinki to Tampere by train. Finland's national train service is called VR (https://www.vr.fi/en) Use VR Matkalla application

(https://www.vr.fi/vr-matkalla) and select Helsinki Lentoasema to Tampere train connection.

Getting to Finland by ferry

There are several regular ferry connections between Finland and other parts of the Baltic Sea.

• Daily routes operate from Sweden to Helsinki and Turku via Åland, serving both passengers and freight traffic.

• The route between Tallinn and Helsinki is one of the busiest in Europe, with multiple departures every day throughout the year.
